Derek recommended this sportive to us having done it for the first time last year. This was a great route of 66 miles in an area where I have never cycled before despite it only being a 35 minute drive away. There was not as much climbing as last week but even so total ascent was 1,146 metres. Taking part were myself, Derek, Jon S, Paul K, Steve D and Malcolm. Malcolm was riding an old airlite 100 that someone gave him (still awaiting return of repaired carbon Giant)but still managed to beat all of us except for Paul k who came in an impressive 19th. We all enjoyed the route and I have saved it to my GPS so we aim to repeat it on our own sometime in October, the roads being perfectly safe even in damp conditions (weather today was cold and damp)
