A good turn out of 10 riders for out first Broad Oak TT (see table above) despite the expected wet weather. We signed on as it started raining and a few minutes in to the event it was raining hard ……

Good news is that the Rainbow Trout has reopened and we can park there since we pop in there afterwards for a drink and chat, 6 of us last night.

A great win for Malcolm but Ivan was riding fixed and could have been a minute quicker on gears, in which case who would have come out on top????

Fastest time was a private time trial by Pete Tadros. A few seconds off the times he did early last year but he did back off on the touchy sharp left turn Cripps Corner, although Steve Denny does not believe him as he shot past him on the turn. He was fresh from yet another sub 20 minute 10 miles (over 30mph average …..) on the Tonbridge by pass, hitting 52 mph going down the ski slope, and he sticks with a 52 ring - Pete can spin it out ……...

Sign on for Broad Oak is in the lay by north of the Fire Station. Cars can be parked in the Rainbow Trout since several of us pop in there after the event for a chat. Other cars can be parked e.g .in Oakfield Close. It is best not to park on the East side of the road opposite the sign on / start area in that lay by since one of the local residents often complains about restricting access for his disabled
