Hastings-Rye-Hastings TT 13 June
A great night last night, excellent conditions, the new road surface from Winchelsea to Rye and 21 riders. Many thanks to Tim Miles for forgoing his ride and cycling out to Rye to marshal the turn - important since drivers do not expect cyclists to circle the Rye Strand roundabout. Any volunteers for the next two weeks?
Another fantastic sub 40 minute time for Pete Tadros after an excellent 14th place in the National 25 Championships on Saturday in Yorkshire and team medal as third counter for In Gear whose Michael Hutchinson won yet again. It was a drag strip course that does not suit Pete who usually makes the top ten when the going is harder and more suited to his style of riding. See table of HRH times attached
The Hastings event was won by Malcolm Daly (46.35) pipping Ivan Johnson (46.41) by just six seconds over the 18 miles. Johnson in first place (63 points from 6) and Daly in second place (56 pints from 5) go well clear at the top of the points table, Johnson by virtue of an extra ride which will make it interesting when both have ridden the maximum ten counting events and then start trying to get some wins to maximise their points tally.
