Hello Folks Last Wednesday saw another great turn out for the last of three Hastings Rye Hastings classics with 16 riders. Three were riding for the first time this year (we have had 25 riders do at least one event) and of the others 9 set season bests on an overcast, still, muggy warm evening with three a bit below their season bests suggesting a fast evening.Malcolm Daly (47.10) won the event to extend his lead at the top of the points table . Making up the top five were Ivan Johnson (47.44), Simon Newell (49.25), and the two juniors - really great to see them do very well - Joe Jenner (50.07) and Joe Kingsman (51.38).Four of the season bests were by over a minute: Paul Baxter (1.57), Steve Denny (1.44), Joe Kingsman (1.28) and Jay Miles (1.23).Fastest time of the night was by Bayeux's Nathan Russell (45.33) whose time has only been bettered by Pete Tadros this season although four riders did 46's.See table of all times. Many thanks indeed to Peter Jenner for timing every evening so far this season. As of next week a change in job location means he will not be able to time regularly but we are very pleased that Rob Dickinson was been practising with the stop watches (they are great, just click each finish time in to the memory) and should be available to do the timing in coming weeks. It would be great if anyone else that was interested stepped forward to have a go as assistant time keeper to learn the ropes, any offers?East Sussex 50 Sunday 15 July HQ East Hoathley First off 6.00 It would be great to have big turn out from H&StL CC for the East Sussex 50 which this year is from the East Hoathly Sports Centre as an HQ but the course is basically still two lengths of the Uckfield - Boship 25. Entries need to go off ASAP with CTT entry from and cheque for £8 payable to East Sussex CA to:Simon YatesThe Old Stables, Crowborough Hill Crowborough, East Sussex TN6 2HL Not sure how many have already said they are riding (Tim Carpenter, several of our Team Lifestyle triatheltes building for other events, Malcolm Daly (?) me ….) - a must to qualify for the East Sussex Best All Rounder (with 100 to follow on 19 August) and useful for those that want a fast 25 to try an over distance event for a bit of endurance.Sunday 22 July offers the possibility of the Steyning 25 or the Brenzett 50. I am thinking of doing the Brenzett 50. Saturday 14 July Interclub 10 on Romney Marsh - HQ New Church, circuit through Ivychurch Please put this great sign on the line inter club event in your diary for two week's time. I think it is sign on at 7.00am for first off at 7.30am. A pancake flat course which gives a great opportunity for a good run on tri bars but care to be taken on the narrow lane on the southern leg. However you will be unlucky to see as many as 6 six cars on the road when riding the ten.
